About the role

As the Clerk to the Hope into Action UK Board of Trustees, you’d perform the duties of a secretary and manage the business of the Board and sub-committees. You'll be required to attend approx. 4 Board meetings and 8 sub-committee meetings a year. You should be available for Skype/WhatsApp/phone calls in between meetings or to come into the office. You'd be responsible for:

  • Organising the timely circulation of the agendas and supporting papers to meeting members and distribution of hard copies as required
  • Provide refreshments for the meetings
  • Attend the meetings, taking minutes of them and a note of actions required.
  • Co-ordinate effective liaison between the Trustees and Exec in relation to the meetings
  • Organising Trustee Retreats

For this role, we are looking for someone with administration experiences, good at systems and filing especially on-line. A good people person and team player, able to work independently.

The ability to be flexible and have a passion for the organisation’s vision. You should be willing to learn new skills and keep confidentiality and absolute discretion at all times.

Hope into Action opened their first house in Peterborough in 2010 and now have over 70 homes in the UK. Each house is a home to two to four tenants. We get referrals from many agencies including the council, probation, rehabs and specialist agencies. Working with Hope into Action can be incredibly rewarding.
