About HR in Hope into Action:

Our HR support function listens to managers, empowering them to take action to manage and recruit. Alongside 9 outcome metrics, our primary measure of success in the lives of our tenants is that they feel loved by the church. Applied to this role, the same principle would be that our managers feel supported and empowered by the HR Administrator. 

About the role:

The primary focus of the role is to support managers in excellent recruitment, induction and management of staff across our line managed cities (Peterborough, Norwich, Nottingham, Cambridge, Wolverhampton), and the Support Centre in Peterborough. The day-to-day administration of HR matters such as staff contracts and management of staff records is also a significant aspect of the role. We will work with you to identify your strengths, and to apply and develop them in wider organizational projects. 

About you:

We are looking for a self-motivated person with a passion for our work, who is able to prioritize prayer and pray for our tenants, staff, churches and mission. You will be a natural administrator with strong initiative. You will be caring. With a coaching mentality, you will be able to discern the appropriate level of support with each individual manager. Essential to Hope into Action is that you are a good listener, team player and passionate about empowering others.

About us:

We believe that everyone has the right to a home and churches have the power to meet the tragedy of homelessness in their community. 

Starting 11 years ago, we have grown into a mature organisation working with over 70 churches running 90 homes for over 250 tenants.  

We have won numerous awards both secular and Christian including from the Guardian newspaper, Homeless link and Centre for social Justice.  

We provide not just shelter and housing know-how, but also the friendship of a church, we are passionate about harnessing the social, financial and spiritual power of churches to enact real change both in them and our tenants. 

Our first home had a real heart for men coming out of prison. Homes are now available for a wide range of people experiencing homelessness: people in recovery from addiction, people sleeping rough, women and children fleeing domestic violence, people coming out of rehab, former prostitutes, refugees, those suffering mental health issues and survivors of human trafficking. 

Roughly, 50% of our homes are in our ‘line-managed cities’ (Peterborough, Norwich, Nottingham, Cambridge, Wolverhampton.), the other 50% are found across a further 20+ towns which we franchise into. 

We encourage others to replicate our model through franchising. The tragedy of homelessness is in every community.   Our vision is for every church to lovingly provide the homeless with a home.
