How does investing work?

It is a joy when we hear from people interested in investing in a Hope into Action house.

Stage one is to meet with us. We like to listen to your hopes and aims for your investment and answer any questions. Some investors approach as individuals and some as part of a group.  Please click Contact Us for a private conversation with Jonathan Wilson, our Investment and Property Coordinator.

Stage two is to buy a house.  We will support and advise you at every step.  The investor retains ownership of the house and leases it to Hope into Action for five years. We find, place and support the tenants in the house and do all the maintenance. We offer a 2% annual return on your total investment. This model is proving successful with tenants, churches and investors.

What is involved?

As an investor, you can be as little or as much involved in the purchase and refurbishment of the house as you wish. Generally we look for three bedroom houses, ideal for two or three tenants. Each tenant has exclusive use of their room and shares the kitchen and bathroom.

Each house is linked to a local partner church who provide mentoring and friendship to the tenants. Each tenant is assigned a Hope into Action Empowerment worker who supports professional support to the tenant.  Your details are kept confidential from the church and tenants.

We keep you up to date with two written reports each year covering the finances and condition of the property and how the tenants are progressing.  And we are always happy to listen to you at any point in the process - just get in touch with Jonathan Wilson, our Investment and Property Coordinator to discuss more about investing in a Hope into Action house.
